About Me

Hi, my name is Stuart Janoff (Stooooo), I am a 38 year old husband and father of 3 young children.  I also am an Independent Beachbody Coach. At the age of 33, I suffered a health scare which led me to discover a new passion: helping myself and others to make lasting changes in their lives through fitness. With the help of Beachbody products I am completely transforming my body, but I am getting ahead of myself.  Let's start from the beginning of my journey.

One day in August of 2005 while doing yard work, I noticed as was getting a bit lightheaded, thinking nothing of it I continued with my work.  Next thing I remember my wife is dumping a bucket of cold water on me asking if I was alright.  Sad thing is I don't remember anything from the point of thinking I was lightheaded to the point of me sitting on the ground now soaked with water.  OK so you are thinking the man got hot and passed out no big deal right?  Well if I was a normal sized man it would be one thing, at that time I weighed in at roughly 290 pounds and I stand 5 feet 10 inches tall.  If you look at the BMI scale I was severely obese, bordering on morbidly obese.

The following week I went for a check up to my doctor who is also a friend of mine since high school.  His message was pretty simple.  "Stu" he said, "You need to lose weight."  Did I listen?  Nope not yet.  It wasn't until Allie and I were watching The Biggest Loser together that I finally got the message.  It may have been that we finally were both inspired to lose weight at the same time.  It may have been we both happen to identify with two people who participated in that season.  Whatever it was, we both decided that night that we needed to do whatever we could to lose weight and reclaim our health.

So the very next day Allie and I signed up at the local branch of a big national gym.  When you added in the gym membership fees, child care and personal training it turned out to be very costly.  So we borrowed money from family and told them that instead of birthday, anniversary and holiday gifts we would rather have money to pay for our memberships and training.  After all "our health depended on it" we went around telling every one.  Now I will be the first to admit if you can afford a personal trainer for a minimum of 3 days a week you most likely will get amazing results.  Unfortunately in my case once my training sessions expired I found myself wondering aimlessly around the gym.  Sure I knew what to do, but I spent more time waiting around for a specific machine to open up then I actually did working out.  Between that and running down stairs to the child care to break up a fight between my kids I really didn't get in much of a work out.  The problem was I paid for two years of my gym membership upfront, so I continued to drive to the gym after work.  Slowly but surely I stopped making that drive.  First I would skip one day, then two, then three.  Soon it became a chore to drive to the gym.

During this time I happen to be flipping channels one night when I came across an infomercial for a program called P90X.  Just watching the infomercial I was tempted buy it, but like I do with every major purchase before I buy I did a little research.  Well I have to say I was blown away by what I saw.  Not only did I see amazing results, but I saw people helping people.  I found a whole community of people who were willing to help complete strangers regain their health.  Well that was the final straw for me, but now I had to convince Allie.  Little did I know she was feeling the same way about the gym.  So it really wasn't hard to convince her that this was the way to go for us.

In this community of P90X addicts I discovered that there were these people called coaches.  The brilliant minds at Team Beachbody discovered that they couldn't help everyone who was purchasing this program let alone all of the other programs the company sponsors so they have asked a bunch of people who have completed one program or another to become coaches.  Well I picked one that I liked and he seemed more then willing to answer any questions I had even before I signed up for him to be my coach.  I was originally going to sign up for the FREE WOWY account (which you can learn more about by going to the Team Beachbody page of my blog), but when I learned that I could get 25% off my purchase of P90X by signing up to become a coach myself, well then I was really hooked.

Since then I have come a long way And I'm only getting better. If you're looking for someone to help you on this incredible journey, you've come to the right place. It would be an honor for me to coach you. The greatest thing about it is, it's FREE!
