A New Beginning (again)
So there is OK news, good news and great news. That's right folks it's an all good blog post! Wooohooo! So, let's cut the chit chat and get right into it. Knowing that I had my doctor appointment this past Friday, I decided to do The Shakeology 3 Day Cleanse on Wednesday. Deep down inside I knew that he would give me the clearance to begin exercising again (he also challenged me to lose some more weight before my follow up in a month, but more about that in another post). So I figured it was time for a fresh start and The 3 Day Shakeology Cleanse was the first thing that popped into my head. I generally try to do the cleanse once every quarter, but I hadn't done it since around the first of the year.
But first let's get to the OK news. Unfortunately I have learned that I have slightly high blood pressure, so I have been put on low dose of blood pressure medicine (which I am determined to get off of very quickly). Unfortunately I may have genetically have high blood pressure. I am not buying it! I think that once I finally lose the weight once and for all. My blood pressure will take care of itself. So I am not taking this as bad news, I am taking it as a challenge. Thus the OK news.
Now for the great news. For me the hardest day of the cleanse is usually the first day. It didn't help that I ate on completely the wrong schedule and didn't drink nearly enough. I felt very sluggish and tired and I had a nasty head cold. By the 2nd day my body is used to the cleanse and it gets much easier. Energy picked back up (in spite of the cold) and I was able to function normally. Now keep in mind that at this point I was still not allowed to have any caffeine at this point, so the fact that I was able to function I was quite happy. Third day, man I was just cruising along, I had already lost 6 pounds since I had been to the doctor 2 1/2 weeks before and I felt great (once again in spite of the cold). Over all during The Shakeology 3 Day Cleanse I lost 7.5 lbs. and I feel incredible.
OK, so far I have covered OK news, and the great news. What about the good news? Well the good news is, that on Saturday I went back to my normal way of eating. For breakfast I had a Chocolate Banana Shake and then eat normally the rest of the day. When I weighed myself the next day I only gained a 1/2 pound. Why is this good news you might be asking? Well in the past when I have done the cleanse, the day after I always ate some form of junk and way more then I should. Usually putting back on at least half of what I lost. However something was different.
Until next time....
~ Stu
