I Believe I Owe You An Apology

Hey Gang,

Saying I'm sorry is not something I do very easily (just ask Allie), but after listening to yesterday's National Coach Call I believe that an apology is in order.  It seems that I may have lost sight as to why I originally became a Team Beachbody Coach.  Now, I'll be honest I did originally join to get the 25% discount on P90X.  At that time I was tired of going to the gym and needed a change.  P90X filled that need.

Now someone of you know, that this blog existed before I became a Team Beachbody Coach.  I actually started it back in 2005, when I initially started my weight loss journey or lifestyle change.  Allie and I were working out a gym with personal trainers.  I had another blog that I was using to discuss my journey to financial independence and didn't want to confuse things.  Anyway, so back then I just posted my weekly weigh-in's and shared my journey.  It was just me sharing my successes and my failures.  It was my form of accountability, I didn't care if anyone was reading (although I hoped people were).  If I tried a new workout and loved it, I shared it.  If I tried a new supplement and hated it, I shared that too.  I was doing it for me and nobody else.  I think part of me was doing it so that I could keep a record of what worked and what didn't work.

When I became a Team Beachbody Coach I never intended to make money from it.  I had been in several MLM companies and had been burned a few times.  Don't get me wrong MLM can and does work, maybe it just doesn't work for me.  Then something strange happened, someone I didn't know reached out to me.  They wrote me a nice e-mail saying that my story motivated them to make a change in their life.  They signed up for me to be their coach.  This was all new to me, because in my past experiences with MLM I had to go looking for customers.  This person chose me, because I was sharing my journey and he identified with me.  I have to tell you it really was a great feeling knowing that I was making a difference.  It actually made me take being a Team Beachbody Coach more seriously.  It made me work out even harder, because how could I tell someone to push play and do their best if I wasn't doing the same thing.

OK, so where am I going with all of this?  Well somewhere along the way I lost my focus.  I forgot what this blog was really about.  I forgot how I felt when someone chose me to be their coach.  I forgot how it felt to actually be making a difference in this world.  I became something that I am definitely not.  I became a salesmen.  As I went back and looked over the last year or so of posts, pretty much every other post is about buy this or take advantage of that.  That is not me and for that I am sorry.

So what does this all mean?  Well for one I am still a Team Beachbody Coach and I take that title very seriously (I know you were really worried).  P90X and Team Beachbody have opened up a whole world for me.  One of knowledge, friendship, and family.  Becoming a Team Beachbody Coach is one of the best decisions I have ever made and there is no way I would give that up.  However, how I go about being a coach is about to change.  How I post on this blog is going to change.

Yes I will still be sharing different specials or challenges I am running from time to time, but it won't make up every post or even every other post.  I'm going back to the basics people.  I'm going back to sharing my journey and hoping you decide to come along for the ride.  Not only will you notice that change here, but you will also see it on MFP as well as facebook.  This blog is going to go through some changes, so stay tuned.  And again let me just say I am truly sorry.

Keep Pushing Your Fitness Forward
